Lamb Jalfrezi

Jalfrezi is a very popular and exotic dish. This is the first time I made it and it turned out to be good.
500gms Lamb cut in medium sized pieces
1 large onion cubed
1 tomato cubed
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
1 tablespoon ghee/oil

For Marination:
1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
Marinate the lamb pieces with the spice and keep for 1 hr. Boil till they get cooked.Drain and keep them aside.

For the curry:
1 large onion sliced
1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
1 teaspoon poppyseeds
4-5 green chilli peppers
1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
1 tablespoon ghee/oil
1 cup yogurt
Add the oil in a pan and saute all the ingredients till they turn brownish.Let it get cooled for sometime. Take out and grind everything with yogurt to make a thick paste.

Add the oil in a pan and fry the onions till they start turning moist. Add the prepared curry paste. saute for 3 minutes and add the tomato.Stir fry till the paste becomes a thick gravy. Add cumin powder,coriander powder,chilli powder and salt with some water.Add the already cooked lamb pieces. Cover cook for 2 minutes on medium flame.Serve hot.
