Chicken Dopiaza

Dopiaza means a curry dish consisting 2 steps of onions.

500 gms chicken cut into medium sized pieces
1 large onion sliced
3green chilli peppers
1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
4 tablespoons oil

For the Chicken:
1 large onion grated
1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
2 tablespoon beaten yogurt
1 teaspoon black pepper powder
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
Mix these ingredients together and marinade the chicken for 30 minutes.

Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a pan.Add the sliced onion and saute till it is browned.Remove from heat and set aside.Add the remaining oil to the same pan.Add the marinated chicken.Saute for 5 minutes.Add salt.Cover and let it get cooked.Check in between so that the spices do not get stuck to the pan.If needed sprinkle some water.Wait till the chicken gets cooked and tender.Add the fried onions and garam masala powder.Stir mix everything for a minute. Then remove from heat and serve hot.
