Paneer Tikka Masala

This is one of the most popular Indian dishes.My husband tried an easier version last week.

For the Tikka:
200 gms Paneer cubed into medium pieces
1 small onion cubed
1 green bell paper cubed
1 tomato cubed
3 tablespoon hung yogurt
1/2 teaspoon chilli powder
1 pinch Dry fenugreek leaves powdered
3 teaspoons oil
1/2 teaspoon lime juice
Salt to taste

Take the ingredients from yogurt to salt (1 teaspoon of the oil)in a bowl and mix. Add cubed paneer, onion, green bell paper and tomato in that mix.  Keep this in refridgerator for 1-2 hour.Heat the remaining oil in a non-stick pan.Add the paneer mix and saute till it becomes light golden brown.The Paneer Tikka is prepared.

For the Gravy:
1 large onion chopped
1 cup tomato puree
1&1/2 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
1/2 teaspoon white flour
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1/2 teaspoon Garam Masala powder
Light cream
3 teaspoon oil
Salt to taste

Take a deep bottom pan/ wok. Add oil. When oil is heated up, add cumin  seeds. Add onion and fry till it becomes translucent. Add ginger-garlic paste.Add the flour and saute for 2 mins. Add turmeric powder and saute for some time.Add the tomato puree and mix.Then add the spices(except garam masala powder)and salt and saute till oil oozes out.Then add 1 cup water and when it starts to boil add the paneer tikka to it.After sometime add the cream till it comes to a slightly thick consistency.Add garam masala powder.Serve hot.

P.S.When preparing the Paneer Tikka,set aside the tomato cubes and add later so that they remin intact after frying.
