Beauty Oils for Skin

I have been reading a lot about the goodness of various beauty oils for skin. These oils are mostly extracted with their original properties being kept intact and not being laden with too much of harsh chemicals and other things. Moroccan oil, coconut oil and lot of other types of oils are used nowadays for smooth and radiant skin. I have started imparting few oils in my skin care routine. I am in search of the very famous Kumkumadi oil but right now just quite satisfied with the oils I am using.

MAC Cleanse Off Oil: This has been my go to product for a very long time and I tried quite a few staffs in between but was never satisfied till I returned to this. A very good cleansing agent that gets rid of any kind of makeup. I require to use a very small amount and only use it when I am wearing a lot of foundations. Most of the times I wear BB Creams and those are quite removable by the Micellar Water or mild makeup removing agents.

Nyassa Cold Pressed Avocado Oil: This is a cold pressed oil with the essential elements of avocado and is meant for dry and dehydrated skin. I wanted to buy the Jojoba Oil from Nyassa which was quite suited for my skin but somehow ended up buying this one that had costed me 800 bucks. As it is very moisturizing for my skin, I use just 2 drops for my entire face. This also has a healing effect on sun damaged skin. I have been using this product every alternate nights and have noticed that it makes my skin quite smooth and soft. I try to concentrate it around the corners of my mouth and on the centre of my eye brows. There's a disturbing fine line which seems to be smoothened a bit. Although my Yves Rocher had yielded much faster and visible results. What impresses me most is the glow my skin radiates the next morning. It looks smooth and feels silky.

Aura Veda Skin Lightening Oil: This oil infused with saffron, winter cherry and turmeric promises to fade out spots and pigmentation from the skin. I mix a drop this staff with the Nyassa oil and apply on alternate nights. I can not say I am highly impressed with it, however, I cannot deny that it works, although quite slow. I have been using it on my arms along with my staple Johnson & Johnson Baby Massage Oil for almost 5 months and have noticed visible improvement. The pigmentation on my upper arms have faded considerably. So I decided to try it on my face as I have some pigmentation and unevenness. I am still waiting for the results. However, the price is quite reasonable at Rs.250 for 100ml.

Passion Indulge Clariance Oil: This is an oil meant to balance oily and combination skin types. I take a few drops of this oil and mix with the Nyassa and Aura Veda oils and apply it every alternate nights. I do this so that the other 2 oils which are quite too greasy for my combination skin are balanced, thus preventing breakouts. It works for me. I have never broken out in spite of using so many oily staffs on my face. This oil has peppermint and grapeseed that works as an antioxidant.

Lakme Enrich Satin Lipstick No.148 Review & Swatch

I have been on a spree of buying Lakme lippies lately. I have purchase a few of their cult favourite Enrich Satin which I had shown in the haul here. After that I had purchased 2 more shades. Anyway today I am going to review shade number 148.

Price:Rs.225

Description:It is a beautiful berry coloured product that gives a creamy intense colour on your lips.

My Verdict:This shade can create a nice evening look. The texture of the lipstick is very creamy and soft.  The colour is pure berry and tends to get on the pinkish side.It moistens the lips immediately after application and does not get dry with time. It keeps the lips smooth and conditioned for hours. The colour fades away with time but still is wearable for at least 2-3 hours at a stretch. Although the colour fades it keeps a subtle berry hint on the pouts which resembles almost like any berry tinted lip balm without the sheen. The shiny berry can be kept mute by blotting with tissue which may be suitable for office makeup.
Pros:
1.Affordable Price
2.Long lasting shine
3.Suitable for parties and evening looks
4.Suited for every complexion
5.Keeps a berry hint even after fading
6.Conditions the lips

Cons:
1.Practically nothing

Plum & Tomato Chutney

Hey loviedovies, its been a while I have posted any new recipes. The reason is I had been staying in a guest house for almost 7 months and did not have any access to the kitchen. Its been 2 weeks since I have started cooking again and today for the 1st time have made something exclusive since I left Belgium.

Ingredients:
3-4 Half-raw palms or Alu Bukharas cut in small pieces
2 tomatoes cut in halves
1/4 teaspoon ginger juliennes
1/2 cup sugar(according to your taste)
1 dried red chilli
water
1/2 spoon oil

Heat oil in the pan. Add the dry red chilli and wait till it turns darker. Add the tomatoes and let the pulp get softened. Add the Plum pieces and some water. Let it boil for sometime. When you see that all the ingredients have almost got boiled, add the ginger juliennes and sugar. Stir well and add water again. Let it boil for some time more. It will turn a shade darker once it is done. Let it cool in the pan. Once it gets cool, pour it in your desire container. You can store this in the refrigerator for at least a week.

6 Basic Skin Care Products

We should be very particular with our skin and body care to maintain a healthy and long life. To age gracefully it is very important to take care of what we eat, how we lead a disciplined life and what products we use for our body. Here are certain products that we can use every day for a smooth and perfect skin and which each individual should incorporate in their lives:
1.       Cleanser: A cleanser will help to remove the dirt and impurities from your skin making it fresh and clear. Cleansers are available in different forms and the most popular form is the foaming ones. Other forms of cleansers are water and lotions. There are some oils that can be used as cleansers too. No matter what form you are using it is important to select a good product that can effectively clear your pores and make your skin dirt free. Milk is a natural cleansing agent as is coconut oil.
2.       Toner: If the use of cleanser is not enough to remove impurities from your skin, use a toner. A toner is the second step in cleansing and it also exfoliates the skin and makes it fresh and glowing. Depending upon what action you want from your toner you can choose between a one that hydrates and something that purifies. Cucumber water or rose water are some of the natural toners that can be used for skin freshness.
3.       Moisturizer: This is one of the most important products for the skin. It is like food for the skin. It provides nutrition and hydration to dehydrated skin and thus makes it soft and supple. People with oily skin should look out for moisturizers that are oil-free and those with dry skin should choose creamier products. Honey is a natural form of moisturizer that is very good for dry skin.
4.       Sunscreen: The harmful UV rays of the sun can cause tremendous damage to the skin which can even cause cancer. To prevent the worst scenario we need to include a product that has Sun Protection Factor in it. You can choose a sunscreen or sunblock or use a moisturizer that has SPF. People living in tropical climate should use a sunscreen with high SPF of at least 30. Even if we are indoors the use of sunscreen is a must.
5.       Exfoliator: These can be in the form of scrubs, polishers or peels. It is the product that is required to revive dull skin. It removes dead skin cells and goes deep inside to reveal younger and brighter skin. It is best to use an exfoliator once or twice a week and all signs of dullness and blackheads will be removed. Baking powder and sugar are natural exfoliators.
6.       Mask: A mask is the ultimate source of pampering for skin and can give a spa-like effect. Purifying masks can remove dirt and impurities from the face revealing a brighter and radiant skin, while nourishing masks provide hydration to undernourished skin. Masks made out of bananas and papayas are good for glowing skin.

My 5 Favourite Looks from Bollywwod Movies in Recent Times

Bollywwod or the Bombay Film Industry produces thousands of movies every year out of which some fade away with time and some set landmarks for themselves. Apart from gripping storylines, amazing performances, beautiful locales and chartbusting songs, the gorgeous outfits and makeup of the female actors is something to look out for. Here are some of the best looks that were seen in recent movies. I may miss out some better looks as I don't watch that much movies.

5.Katrina Kaif in Jab Tak Hai Jaan
This romantic story had the angelic Katrina Kaif in an equally romantic avatar who is swayed by the Prince Charming and gets the feeling of first love. The innocence of the character was presented so magically by the simple makeup where a young woman discovers her first love and enjoys every bit of it. The makeup was simple and fresh and just perfect for the character.

4. Deepika Padukone in Race 2
The drop dead gorgeous look of the character played by Deepika in this action-thriller was presented aptly with the glamorous makeup. The daredevil woman who can burn the dance floor as swiftly as she can kill at the drop of a hat was portrayed with bronzed toned features and rouge pouts and nails. The sensuous moves were complemented by the use of striking colours.

3.Chitrangada Sing in Inkaar

The main character of the movie is an over ambitious corporate lady who can go to any heights to reach her career goals. Her makeup was just appropriate for the sexy, confident and independent woman who can do the talking equally with the mouth and her smouldering eyes.

2.Deepika Padukone in Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani

Be it the nerdy scholar in the first half or the sari and lehenga clad Diva in the second half each and every scene of the movie made Deepika look perfect. The makeup of the first half suited the character of a young nerd who is bound by restrictions and learns to enjoy the first steps of freedom. The glass wearing pretty and innocent face almost sans makeup was so cool, as was the Glam Goddess look of the second half where she portrays an independent and established woman.

1. Kareena Kapoor Khan in Talaash

Her stupendous performance in this horror mystery flick was as marvellous as her makeup. Her electrifying presence in the life of a cop and her mysterious appearances were as captivating as was her makeup. She looked beautiful in every frame and from every angle. I don't even want to judge if the makeup was suitable for her character of a prostitute, it just looked smashing on her.
