My September Anniversary Vellvette Bag

Follow my blog on GIMMEMORE

I was super-exited about the bag and was waiting eagerly for it to come. So finally today, all wait is over and here is my September Anniversary Vellvette Bag.

The bag itself is a cute red one with white polka dots. I had some idea about the staffs to be got as I had been checking other bloggers' bags. Most of their bags had an eye shadow palette, a nail/lip product and a shower gel/body lotion and a compact brush was common in all.

Now my bag contained a lovely eye shadow palette, a nail product  a shampoo. I had least expected it as I got a shampoo-conditioner in my May subscription box. Anyway I am happy with it.

I am simply in love with the Beauty UK Eye Shadow Palette No.2 in Soho. I will be swatching and reviewing it shortly. Oh my God, it has all the best pop shades of the season. Keeping in mind the upcoming Durga Puja and Diwali, this palette is just the perfect beauty product that I had been looking for. It is a full size product.

The second product is the Sally Hansen Miracle Cure for stronger nails. This is a nice product as I already use it and would have repurchased, there is no harm in receiving it. Nice one I should say. I am quite happy. This is also a full sized product.

The third product is the Organic Surge Shine Boost Shampoo. It is a 100 ml version and is meant for normal hair. I will review it for sure. I am very particular with my hair care products as I am not blessed with very good hair. Therefore the scope to experiment with hair care is very limited for me. Anyway I have to give it a try.

Then there is the Vellvette Compact Brush which is cool. I really require this for all the upcoming Pandal-hoppings for Durga Puja.

Overall, this is just something that one can expect before an upcoming festival. Thank you so much Vellvette for the products.  Stay tuned for the reviews and if you want to shop this bag today is the last day. So grab it here.

L'Oreal Paris Dermo-Expertise Hydrafresh Gel Foam Review

Follow my blog on GIMMEMORE

I have been in search of a good facial cleanser for quite sometime. I have been using the Himalaya Neem Facewash but clearly needed a change.

When the L'Oreal Paris Dermo-Expertise Hydrafresh Gel Foam came to my hand, I was really elated. It is a part of their Hydrafresh range which itself has made a mark in skincare.

Price: Rs. 299/- for 100ml
Availability: Available in all L'Oreal counters across India

What L'Oreal says:
Enriched vitamins & essential minerals: Preserves the skin’s natural moisture
Gel texture: Thoroughly cleans the skin
• Combination to oily skin
Mild fragrance: Leaves the skin feeling instantly refreshed
• Skin feels soft, fresh & perfectly clean after use
• Dermatological tested

Packaging: It is a light sea-green coloured tube with a white flip-opening cap. The front side has the name of the company and product in a lovely Golden, black and green combination of fonts while the back side has the detailed description of the product, how to use and list of ingredients.

Description: The cleanser is a transparent coloured gel, with a subtle green tint. It is a bit free-flowing and does not stick to your skin.

My Take: I have been using this product for almost a month as I generally take quite some time to see how the product is working on my skin before reviewing it.

The first thing you notice is the lovely floral fragrance which is soft and breezy but not overpowering. The packaging is elegant and the flip cap easy to open. The hole can help you control the amount of product you require. Regarding the texture of the product, I love the gel formula as I think they are the most suitable for people with oily skin. Then unlike other gels, this cleanser has a free-flowing nature and will spread on your skin quite easily. This is also a positive trait as you will require a tiny bit for your entire face.  As soon as it comes in contact with water the gel slowly starts to get foamy and frothy. You can feel it working on your skin with a silky touch. After rinsing it thoroughly your skin becomes velvety. Now this is quite unique.

I have hardly found any gel cleanser that ends up leaving your skin soft and velvety. This is a trait mostly seen in creamy cleansers. Most of the gels leave skin fresh but quite tight and will require immediate hydration. But as the name suggests, Hydrafresh Gel Foam is enriched with moisturizing agents that can make the skin silky soft and will remain like that for 30 minutes even without the use of moisturizer leaving you smelling heavenly. The product is meant to cleanse makeup as well. However, I had noticed that very strong makeup like matte or full coverage foundations may not be totally wiped out. Since I use strong makeup very rarely this product is enough to cleanse off my BB/CC Creams and setting powders.

I have used a number of cleansers in the past but have hardly come across any product that is truly meant for oily to combination skin types(although they claim to be). Most of the products are designed to deal with oily skins suffering from acne, blemishes or pimples. This is one product that really is catered for those with oily to combination skin types. I am loving L'Oreal Paris Dermo-Expertise Hydrafresh Gel Foam and have found out that my skin has not broken out since.

Pros:
1.Lovely fragrance
2.Spreads easily on skin
3.Leaves skin soft
4.Minerals & Vitamins enriched
5.Quite hydrating
6.Skin remains velvety for long time
7.Value for Money

Cons:
1. Nothing I can think about

Rating: Its a Full 5 for me.

How to Apply Perfect Eye Makeup

<a href="http://gimmemore.me/blog/detail/i/335?claim=6869ae7ee4450d1dba8cdc939896521ef1ab6a54">Follow my blog on GIMMEMORE</a>

Eyes are the reflective medium of an individual’s soul. Even when we don’t speak our eyes speak a thousand words. Every woman wants her eyes to be smouldering and bright. They use various makeup products to make the look of their eyes prim and proper. A perfect eye makeup should be such that every eye will be on your eyes. Most of the renowned makeup artists work wonders in creating magnificent eye makeup looks. Celebrities like Aishwarya Rai, Taylor Swift and Rihanna are known to sport the most trendy eye looks.

Here is a guide to apply eye makeup with perfection:

1.       Cleanse any existing makeup: Before starting the makeup make sure that you have cleansed the skin properly. If you had put on makeup previously, you need to remove that with an eye makeup remover. Make sure there is no residue left and the skin is fresh and totally free of colours or dirt.

2.       Even Out Skin: Often the eye area is quite sensitive and can turn dark or reddish in colour you need to combat this by applying concealer and even out the complexion so that every part of your feature has the same colour. This can be done by applying 3 tiny dots under the eye and then with the help of a finger pat the colour until it gets blended to your skin. You can use a concealer brush too. Remember never to rub the concealer as it will not do its job of covering and camouflaging properly.

3.       Prime the lids: Choose an eye shadow primer and apply on the lids. This will enhance the intensity of the colour as well as make it stay for a longer time. Moreover the shadow will be prevented from creasing, fading and melting. Generally eye shadow primers are quite expensive but makeup artists suggest to invest in one and to limit the budget while buying the shadows.

4.       Apply the shadow: This is the most creative phase of your eye makeup. Here you can choose from selecting just a single colour or can blend and match with 3-4 shades for exotic looks. Intense pigments like Maybelline Colour Tattoo Eyeshadows alone can create amazing looks without the need of any other shades. However, if you are going for something more fun and pop, select 3 shades and blend them well to create gorgeous statement looks.

5. Follow with eyeliner: It is best to use a thin line to accentuate the eyes if you are wearing very bright shadows. However, if you are going for a retro winged look, try to use an intense black liner that can create thick lines and give your eyes an instant makeover. Another very useful and easy way to make your eyes perky is to tight line it by lining the upper and lower waterlines. If you have small eyes and you want to make it appear bigger draw a line with a white liner across your lower waterline.

 6.  Brighten your eyes: Use a highlighter around the inner corners of the eyes to give an instant boost of freshness and glow. This will intensify the rest of the eye makeup and make your eyes look bright and sexy. Try to use the highlighter on your brow bones as well to create the best eye makeup.

7.  Work on the lashes: This is the final but the most crucial part of your eye makeup. Not every woman is blessed with thick and long lashes. But the advent of avant garde makeup comes as a solution for them. Curl the lashes with a curler. Then apply a volumising mascara to make your lashes thicker and brighter. If you think that is not enough wear false lashes.
