My Winter Wishlist

Today I will not be reviewing any products, instead will share with you all my wishlist for the cold season. Here are some of the things that I would love to be all mine. hehe!!

1. MAC Retro Matte Lipsticks

I have already discussed about my affection towards bright colours during winter. And can anything better depict bright colours better than these wonder sticks? Well I would love to own most of the 7 colours available in India.

2. Eli Saab Le Parfum Eau de Parfum Intense

A wishlist is a wishlist, so what even if costs a bomb!! You dont have to always buy it to eye it. This perfume of $130( Rs.8300/-) is 2nd in my list. It is said to smell ultra-sensual and feminine with notes of ylang ylang, rose honey and orange blossom. Quite tempting?

3. Swarovski Bib Necklace-Gunmetal

This masterpiece made from original Swarovski crystals can dazzle up any occasion. Love it? You can locate it at Bijou Tresor's collection.

4. Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream

This is another product I have been eyeing for some time now. I use the Lakme CC Cream, however, I want something more hydrating and something more a skincare than a makeup. The intense hydrating formula that the Clinique CC Cream promises, will definitely be suitable for dry winters.

5. Colorbar Get the Look Makeup Kit

I am not sure if these are yet in-stores. But would love to get my hands on one of these for my winter makeup. It will be such a cool purchase for women who will be travelling ( count me) during winter. The colours look fabulous and there are 3 kits available.

6. Lancome Teint Miracle Foundation

I have heard so much about the product that I am desperate to try out for myself now. Most Lancome products are fabulous and the dewy finish this foundation is said to provide, makes it a must for winters.

7. L'Oreal Paris Color Riche Quad Eyeshadow Palette

This eye shadow quad from L'Oreal looks fabulous. All the available 7 palettes are suitable for sultry eye makeup. I know I will have a tough time at the counter to select one from the lot. But definitely Hidden Gems is the 1st choice.

8. Dior Diorific Jewel Manicure Duo

They seem to adorn your nails just like any precious ornament. These Limited Edition nail colours are part of the Dior Golden Winter Collection. The shades here feature a gold base with crystal micro-pearls to sprinkle over nails. One of the most specific features of this duo is the 3D effect applied to the shades.

9. The Body Shop Ginger Sparkle Collection

Imagine your whole body is cocooned inside a spicy aromatic veil during the harsh dry season!! The Body Shop Ginger Sparkle ranges of products can actually give you this feeling of heavenly pleasures, while protecting your skin and preventing it from drying. Choose your pick from  a whole world of soap, body polish, hand wash, shower gel and body butter.

10. Toni & Guy Refreshing Dry Shampoo

I am a lazy girl and winters take a toll on me when I have to wash my hair. Generally I wash my hair once in every 2 days, but during winters it becomes quite difficult to maintain the routine. Here is something that will obviously come to rescue for lazy girls like me.

Let me know what are in your wishlist? I tag all my readers here to share their winter wish list.

Colorbar I-Glide Eye Pencil in Shade Electra Review, Swatches & Apllication

Winter makeup should be bold and bright. It is the time we can play with lots of colours. How about some electric blue on the eyes.

Today I am going to review a cool electric blue eye pencil from Colorbar Cosmetics.

It is the I-Glide Eye Pencil. There are altogether 10 shades out of which I selected the shade 04 in Electra. It is a beautiful electric blue and suitable for pop-eye looks.

Price:Rs.499/-

The Product: Defines like a pencil and glides like liquid eyeliner. This effortlessly easy to use I-Glide Eye Pencil with its smooth formulation, gives your eyes rich colour in a single stroke and blends in easily after application. Lasts longer than 8 hours; does not feather or bleed.

My Experience: This is a cool shade and really glides very easily. The easy going application makes it a must for great makeup. The colour is so rich and deep that a single sweep can create the most amazing eye makeup. It can brighten your eyes and it is suitable to wear during clubbing and parties. The texture of the product is almost like a gel liner as it is so sot and gives rich shade in an instance. The colour stays for a long time. It takes at least 3 cotton balls to remove the colour even after cleansing with eye makeup remover. Hmm...quite a task!!

I am not going into pros or cons of the product as there is hardly any negative trait in the product.

Girls who love to flaunt bright and jewel toned shades should definitely give this a try. It is just fit for statement eye looks.

Inglot AMC Lip Paint Pots Review, Swatches & Application

Inglot stores attract me whenever I pass them. They are so colourful and loaded with hoard of bright shades of lip, eye and cheek shades. The best buy from Inglot are the 4 Lip Paints from their AMC range. Today I will be reviewing them.

There are overall 20 shades in this range and I have selected the brightest 4 of them.

Price: Rs.750/-

Packaging: I love potted lip balms and glosses. This product comes in a transparent jar and from outside you can see the exact colour of the product. There is a black cap. The packaging is simple.

Product: Vitamin E and Inglot’s smoothing and repairing complex smooths, moisturizes and repairs the lips while biomimetric peptide stimulates collagen synthesis giving a 3D ultra shiny gloss effect.

The Shades:

Shade 62: It is a light plum coloured paint that looks almost like a lilac shade on my lips.

Shade 50: It is a nude-orangish shade.

Shade 64: It is a bright berry shade

Shade 67: It is a hot Fuchsia shade

The most important thing to notice about the product is their softening properties. The lips feel nourished and soft.  Application with your finger can be quite messy, as the colours are quite pigmented. It is better to use a lip brush for smoother and fuss-free application. The product can be greasy and you can expect stray away hair strands to get stuck to your lips. Yuuuk!!! But true. Anyway, most lip glosses are like that. The shades are just mind-blowing. The rich pigments make them set in as the exact colour on the lips. This is a plus for me as my lips are naturally quite pigmented and light shades often do not show on my lips unless I apply some concealer. It has a beautiful shine and looks gorgeous on the lips. The product does not stay for long. One glass of water and you will be left with hardly any colour on the lips. So regular touch-up is required. Since the colours are so intense and high shined, they can be suitable for weddings, functions or some special events. However, the lack of staying power can be a big disadvantage. The colours are so attractive; you hardly require any other makeup.

From L to R: Inglot AMc Lip Paints in 62,50,64,67
 Pros:
1.  Bright shades
2.  Pigmented
3.  Soft for lips
4.  High Shone
5.  Vitamin E

Cons:
1.  Greasy
2.  Does not stay for long time

   Rating:4/5

Vichy Purete Thermal One-Step Cleanser Review

I love lazy and cozy winter nights. I cant wait to jump into bed and get inside the soft blanket. So although I put on a lot of makeup during this time, taking them off gives me headache. That is why I love to use fuss free cleansing staffs like wipes and cleansing waters, where you dont have to rush to rinse off the staff with cold running tap water!! However, here is a product from Vichy Lab that not only cleanses the skin thoroughly but also takes off your makeup with efficiency.

Vichy Purete Thermal One-Step Cleanser is a 3-in-1 product that works as a Cleansing milk, toner and eye makeup remover. It is meant for Normal to Sensitive skin.

Price: Rs.890/-

Packaging: It comes in a cool white tube with a dark blue cap. The nice diagram of splash of water gives it a very refreshing look.

Experience: It is my go to cleanser during winter nights. Although I dont have sensitive skin, it works for me quite well. The white frothy liquid can be spread evenly on the skin and wiped off with a cotton ball. You will see the results when your cotton ball will hold all the stains, and your face will remain dirt free. The product is not that non-greasy. It somewhat leaves a creamy feeling on the skin, even after wiping with a cotton ball. So I prefer to moisten my cotton ball a little before wiping it. This works well for me.

As for makeup cleansing I would not say it can compete with a proper makeup remover. I would always prefer my Mac Cleanse-Off Oil when I am wearing very intense colours. But it does a decent job and can very well cleanse off subtle and regular wear makeup. The product is fragrance free and paraben free and leaves your skin soft and supple. You dont need a toner and can directly apply a moisturizer instead.

Pros:
1. Paraben free
2. Leaves skin soft
3. Can remove moderate makeup
4. No water required
5. Easy to use
6. Suitable for sensitive and dry skin
7. People with oily/combination skin can try during winter

Cons:
1. Can feel greasy after wiping
2. Not sufficient to remove intense makeup
3. Not suitable for very oily skin

Rating: 4.25/5

I would definitely recommended this product for sensitive skin and dry skin types. For beauties with oily and combination skin, you can try this during winter but make sure you use a wet tissue or moist cotton pad while wiping.

Maybelline 24 Hr Color Tattoo Eye Shadow Review, Swatches & EOTD

Hey all this is another post from our winter special feature. I love to do bright and gorgeous makeup during winter. Humid summer days wont allow you to put on a lot of colours on your face, specially eye shadows as it may wear off. Winters are meant for bright makeup.

Today I will be sharing my views on the very popular Maybelline 24 Hr Color Tattoo Shadows. I have got 2 of them, Pomegranate Punk and Fierce & Tangy.

Price: Rs 350

Packaging: The packaging is cool. It comes in a small transparent pot and you can see the product from outside. The cap is black in colour where all the details about the product is mentioned.

The Shades: The shadows are said to be formulated with ink-technology that can create tattoo tenacity and 24 Hr lasting intensity. It can create super saturated eye colours.

Pomegranate Punk: It is one of the richest eye shade I have ever seen. I loved the colour immediately while checking out at the counter. It is a very deep plum shade with some shimmers. The colour spreads quite smoothly on the skin and you dont need a brush to spread and blend it. It is suitable for gorgeous eye looks, and can be blended out for subtle eye looks as well. As it can easily fit into your purse, it is quite useful for immediate makeovers. I use this shade a lot nowadays, specially since  the Navaratri-Diwali times. It really gives an intense makeup look and lasts very long, looks fabulous on the eyes. These type of shades look great on any complexion.

Fierce & Tangy: This colour is funky and bright. It is more of a summer colour and can be used for bright eye makeups. It is a tangy orange shade that appears amazing inside the pot. I feel the colour does not show its brightness and looses the intensity once it is applied on the skin. It may suit very fair to light complexions. However, it can be used in conjecture with a deep shade for dramatic eye looks. Another thing that I have noticed is that the colour does not spread evenly on the skin unlike the Pomegranate Punk one. This colour was a bit disappointing. I wish I would have chosen another intense colour from the 8 options.

Pros:
1. Nice range of shades
2. Pomegranate Punk is very intense
3. Great for festive and glamorous looks
4. Doesnt require brush to apply
5. Can be carried easily
6. Suitable for instant makeovers
7. The dark shade is suitable for all complexions
8. Stays for a long time

Cons:
1. Fierce & Tangy shade looses intensity on skin
2. The light shade is not suitable for medium skin-toned and dusky beauties
3. Some may find the price a bit high

Rating: This is tricky. I just loved the Pomegranate Punk shade, so I will give it a 4.75/5. But Fierce & Tangy gets a 3.5/5 from me.

EOTD with Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 Hr Shades Pomegranate Punk & Fierce & Tangy
I would recommend these shadows to everyone, specially if you are looking for instant dramatic makeovers. There are 8 gorgeous shades to choose from. But be very careful while selecting the colour and choose the one that will actually suit your needs. I am eyeing for the Edgy Emerald and Audacious Asphalt shades next.
