High
Street Phoenix in association with Back Alley -The Thrift Shop
present a weekend of shopping for a cause
Mumbai, 26 March 2014: This
April 2014, Mumbai will see a mélange of two popular concepts, the ubiquitous Thrift Shop and the steadily emerging trend of
‘Analogous Fashion’, all coming together to help spread some good Karma. High
Street Phoenix in association with Back Alley – ‘The
Thrift Shop’, will be hosting a two day long weekend of ‘Analogous
Fashion’ on 12th and 13th of April
2014 at the destination centre. Back Alley and High
Street Phoenix will give the patrons a vintage thrift shop experience with the
goal of raising funds for various charities namely DEEDS, UNITED and the Sri
Satya Sai School Trust in Pune.
Back Alley is a non-profit initiative by Radhika
Dhawan and Maya Bhogilal Goyel with ‘Thrift Shop’
being their kitschy pop-up store. The products resold range from apparel,
books, home decor artifacts, accessories, vinyl, CDs and are unused and mostly
crowd sourced. The venue is recreated to reflect a vintage thrift boutique to
add to the shopper’s experience. Mumbaikars are asked to send in their
donations pertaining to the aforementioned articles. Back Alley takes
the utmost care to go through everything individually and personally so as to
filter every product before it goes on sale.
Come April, expect to find some of the most fashionable, quirky
and interesting goodies sourced from the passionate ‘Keepers of
Cool’ all courtesy High Street Phoenix and Back Alley’s
The Thrift Shop.
