Its My Way to #SlowDownZindagi

Are not we tired of the way life in general treats us? Work at home, work at office, taking care of children, making future plans, keeping everyone happy, the more we think about, the less. There are thousands of What-nexts going in our mind all the time. But have we ever thought of taking out these questions out of our mind, just for a while? With growing responsibilities, we find seldom opportunity to de-stress. But it is very important to take out some time from our busy schedule to enjoy that moment when we just relax.

How one de-stresses depends entirely on his preferences. My father likes to solve Sudoku and that is his way of relaxing. For me it is completely different. I get very limited time when I can actually take a relaxing session, but when I do, here are a few ways I try to #SlowDownZindagi:

1.     Going for lazy walks: Generally I go for brisk walks every day, but when I am too tired I cheat and laze around the Powai Lake side, often sitting and gazing at the storks. Not necessarily I have anything in mind at that moment. I simply want to cherish the moment of nothingness.

2. Listening to Songs: After a busy day, I just want to sit back for sometime, listening to my favourite music. It may vary from old classics to instrumental, depending on my mood. A warm mug of coffee with soulful music is a perfect way to de-stress for me.

3. Watching Food shows: I do not watch a lot of television, but when I do, I love to watch anything related to food, specially shows that cover different cuisines around the world. It may sound that cooking is also a part of my de-stressing activity, but not really. It is something that I have to do on a daily basis, and I just add a little extra from the things that I gather from the TV shows.

4. Chatting with friends: Nowadays net addiction has become so common, that we hardly catch up with friends in real. I try to make out some time and hang out with friends over a cup of coffee and snacks. Plain conversations, ranging from daily life to politics, movies, travel- everything is covered.

5. Window shopping alone: I wanted to write shopping but refrained from it as generally I take long hours in just checking out things. I do not get tired of it. In fact I like to check clothes, shoes and other things out for hours, and may end up not buying anything at all.
